Crime Stoppers Award – Retired Conservation Officer Blake Simpson’s long-term and on-going support of the Crime Stoppers Program has earned him the MNR Crime Stoppers Co-ordinator of the Year Award. The award was accepted on Blake’s behalf by Kevin Smith of the Enforcement Branch and James Abbott, Timmins District Enforcement Supervisor on June 16, 2003.
The local Crime Stoppers Boards of Thunder Bay and the Northwest hosted this year’s Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers Training Conference in Thunder Bay. Blake has for several years been a great supporter of the Pembroke Renfrew Crime Stoppers Board. He has been instrumental in organizing a horseback ride fundraising event, which includes Conservation Officers, Pembroke Police, the OPP and other local equestrians. This has been a great public education and fundraising event for Crime Stoppers, law enforcement and the community.
