Tragically taken on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 in his 40th year. Beloved husband for 13 years of Sharalyn (Soltys). Cherished father of his two young daughters; Wendy and Amanda. Eldest son of Aileen and the late James Stubbs of South River, Ontario. Grandson of the late Wilheimina Stubbs. He was loved dearly by all his family.
Dear brother of; David Stubbs of Oshawa, uncle of Alexander and Meagan and dear brother of Mike Stubbs of Toronto. Nephew of; Peter Stubbs (Willa); cousin of Dianne Stubbs and Stephen Stubbs (Margo, Jack, Jillian). Son-in-law of Jeannine Soltys. Brother-in-law of; Keith Soltys (Nancy), uncle of Edward and Rosalie; brother-in-law of Stephen Soltys (Susan), uncle of Douglas, Patrick and Samantha; brother-in-law of Janice Black (Andrew), uncle of Jordan; brother-in-law of Pam Perkins (James), uncle of Sarah and brother-in-law of Carrie-Lynn Soltys (Ateker). Loved and remembered by many dear friends and family.
Bruce worked for the Ministry of Natural Resources and in the Forestry Services for many years and was well known by his fellow workers as a friendly and outgoing person. Bruce was also known to enjoy the outdoors and we will miss his camping trips.
Friends called at the Northwood Funeral Home in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday evening. A Memorial service was held in the Chapel on Saturday, January 25, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Kingston officiating.
Memorial donations made to the Children’s Trust Fund would be appreciated by the family.
A Trust Fund has now been set up for Bruce Stubbs’ children at the Toronto Dominion Bank in Sault Ste. Marie. The trust fund is in the name of Sharalyn Stubbs.
