MNR Crime Stoppers Award 2006

Ontario Conservation Officer Paul Manual

A Wawa Conservation Officer was recognized for his efforts over the past 5 years working with the Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie and District of Algoma board. Conservation Officer Paul Manuel was presented with a plaque honouring his service during an awards banquet on February 21, 2007 in Sault Ste. Marie.

“Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie and the District of Algoma appreciates the contribution that Paul Manuel has made to the Crime Stoppers Program” said Constable Doug Rix of the Sault Ste, Marie Police Service.

Over this period, Paul has worked with local businesses to organize golf tournaments and barbeques to raise funds for Crime Stoppers, and has recorded weekly Crime Stoppers announcements with the local FM radio station regarding natural resource violations.

“This award recognizes the ongoing commitment that Conservation Officers have with the local Crime Stoppers board in the community of Wawa, and we are very proud of Paul’s efforts” said Charlie Todesco, Wawa Enforcement Supervisor.

Crime Stoppers and the Ministry of Natural Resources have had an ongoing partnership since 1989 for reporting and solving natural resource related crimes.
